What is third party tracking and why do we stop it? 🕵️♂️
What is it?
The majority of websites that you go to allow other companies, often that you’ve never even heard of, to place trackers on you that then follow you around the internet.
For example, if you live in North East London and you go to your local council’s website, Enfield council, then they will allow:
> 25 different companies to place trackers on you.
> 7 of these companies are ‘data brokers‘, meaning that it is their business model to sell on your data.
This practice is wide spread and happens across the majority of sites that you visit on a daily basis where third party trackers from cookies can follow you around.
Our View
We believe that you should be able to control who collects your data and makes money from it. That’s why, by default, the latest version of Gener8 will stop third parties from tracking you.
