AGE UK

Formed in 2009, Age UK is the country’s leading charity dedicated to helping everyone make the most of their later years 🙌. The over 60’s is the fastest growing group in the UK and Age UK’s goal is to inspire, enable and support people to live a more comfortable life as they age. Every year, they help more than 7 million people, providing companionship and assistance through their many various programmes. They support people through:

👩‍🍳 Their own cafes and restaurants, cooking up fresh home cooked meals and providing a meeting place for older people in the community

⭐️ Providing support for carers

💪 Providing dance and exercise classes to help elderly people manage their physical activity

☎️ Offering free telephone friendship services for older people so they can enjoy chatting with someone over the phone

SAVE THE CHILDREN

Save the Children was founded in 1919 by sisters Eglantyne Jebb and Dorothy Buxton, in response to children who were suffering from starvation in Germany and Austria Hungary. Since then, their charity has helped over 45 million children across the world get the medicine, good food and education that they need. The charity is over a century old and is now a global movement, made up of 29 national member organisations 🙌.

Ultimately, their aim is to improve the lives of children through better education, healthcare and economic opportunities. They also provide emergency aid for children suffering due to natural disasters, war and other conflicts.

DESMOND AND LEAH TUTU LEGACY FOUNDATION

Founded in 2013, the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation represents one of the world’s most iconic leaders, and his life-long partner. The Foundation strives to ensure their uncompromised bravery is celebrated, communicated and curated for posterity.

The Foundation ensures that women and youth are of the highest priority, especially those from vulnerable communities. Through its work, the Foundation becomes an important resource for academics, faith-based organisations and school groups, and intends to create a positive impact for marginalized communities, those struggling with mental health issues, poverty, loss and abuse.
