Meet Gemma, our Marketing Assistant 👋. If you’ve ever reached out on our social or support channels, you’ve probably already had a conversation with her 💬. Read on to find out why Gemma joined Gener8, what she spends her Gener8 points on and why she’s never going axe throwing again 🪓.

🤔 As Gener8’s Marketing Assistant, what does a typical day look like for you?

It’s very varied! From sending out our rewards items every week to managing our community on our social and support channels (I talk to our users quite a lot! 👋). I also write the copy for any content we put out and help our Social Media Manager with any content ideas 💡.

One of my favourite projects is finding creatives to feature on our Gener8 Tabs pages 📸… so if anyone wants their photography featured on Tabs, let me know 😎.

✊ What drew you to Gener8?

During one of the lockdowns, I started studying for a Digital Marketing qualification and soon realised that I wanted to pursue a career in marketing. I kept an eye out for suitable roles for a while but I really just wanted to work for a company that would align with my own values. When I saw that Gener8 was hiring a Marketing Assistant I was so excited I immediately wrote a cover letter and sent it off with my CV. About an hour later I had an interview invitation from Sam!

✨ What has been your biggest accomplishment since joining Gener8?

This is more of a joint accomplishment with our Intern, Zak, but making sure our users have a good experience when they contact our support channel. We’re always relaying user feedback to the team because we genuinely care about what they think and what they want from using Gener8!

🛍 What’s the best thing you’ve redeemed on Gener8?

I’m a big fan of our Exclusive Offers! They sometimes get overlooked but I’ve saved so much money using them. The HelloFresh offer saved me £64 and I was cooking recipes I’d never tried before 👩‍🍳. I’ve also just quit my gym membership to try the new FIIT app offer… it works out £15 for a two-month membership 💪. So yeah, I’m a big advocate of the offers 😅.

🪓 What is something you enjoyed doing but would never do again?

Axe throwing with the Gener8 team, mainly because I was bottom of the leaderboard and I don’t like losing 😤. Luckily, it’s my job to plan our company socials so the next one is going to be something I’m REALLY good at.

✌️ Tell us a fun fact about yourself.

I can fingerspell the alphabet in British Sign Language. Our Social Media Manager (Ken) always has the camera rolling for behind the scenes content, so if you look on our socials, there’s an embarrassing clip of me showing the team the start of the alphabet 🤦‍♀️.
